ABOUT

Born in 1994, at the age of 7 Francesco D'Alessandro began studying the electric bass at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, under the direction of the teacher Maurizio Rolli, attending complementary courses like: harmony, jazz, composition and modern arrangement.

He graduated with honour from the Conservatory "L. D'Annunzio" in Pescara, in both: Pop electric bass (first level) and Jazz electric bass (second level). During the last year he attended different masterclasses with the teacher Roberto Gallinelli concerning the improvement and perfectionism of the electric bass in the pop music world.

He was a member of the Orchestra Giovanile Amadeus, of the Big Band of Pescara Conservatory and of the Orchestra Nazionale Jazz, directed by the teacher Pino Jodice. Thanks to the Orchestra Nazionale Jazz he shared prestigious stages with the biggest national and international Jazz artists, like: Alex Sipiagin (Michael Brecker, Dave Holland, …) with Mario Biondi, Fabrizio Bosso and Billy Cobham (long-time fusion drummer who played with Miles Davis, James Brown, George Benson, Quincy Jones and so many more).

He cooperated and he is actually cooperating with: Mogol. Serena Brancale, Silvia Mezzanotte (Matia Bazar), Simona Bencini of Dirotta su Cuba group, Sensaction with who he played on the opening day of Pescara Jazz 2017, Max Ionata and Mike Applebaum (trumpet player who played with Ennio Morricone, who was arranger for Zucchero, Alex Britti).
During the Ismez tournèe in 2017, he played with the teacher Roberto Molinelli and the symphonic Orchestra of Conservatorio "L. D'Annunzio" in Pescara, with the Medit Voices directed by the Teacher Angelo Valori, Andrea Tofanelli, Andrea Giuffredi, Georgina Jackson and Renzo Ruggieri with the "MJF All star Orchestra”, with the F-army where he is compositor and founder, “Ciao Lucio – tributo a Lucio Dalla” and vocal quartet “Ghost Notes”.

During the last years he has recorded several works: "Istinto" with SensAction, "Piece of Paradise” with Andrea Agresta sextet, “Call to Arms” with the bass quartet: F-Army. This last was presented for the first time during the Pescara Jazz in 2020.

"Every musician needs years to find a sound that lets him express himself to the best, my sound is undoubtedly with yellow and black "tones", it is: bright, defined and dynamic —says Francesco— these are the best adjectives to describe Markbass items that follow me in every live or studio session. I began studying bass electric when I was a child, and from the beginning I've known how important this type of sound was. I'm very lucky to have this reality, known all around the world, a few steps from home."
