ABOUT

Matt Bissonette is a top session player with an incredible resume that includes Joe Satriani, Ringo Starr, David Lee Roth, Peter Frampton and Don Henley, just to name a few.

Matt grew up in Detroit, Michigan and got his start playing with The Kingston Trio, The Ink Spots, and many different jazz groups, big bands, local bar bands and original acts. In 1983 he moved to Los Angeles and since then, he’s performed and/or recorded with: Ringo Starr, Boz Skaggs, Gino Vanelli, Julian Lennon, Brian Wilson, Steve Perry, Rick Springfield, Peter Frampton, Johnny Mathis, Phyllis Diller, his own band A440, Sheena Easton, Jeff Lorber, Dave Koz, The TV show Friends, The Tracey Ullman show, Disney’s “The Weekenders”, “Just Shoot Me”, David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani, Don Henley, The Michael Thompson Band, Evan and Jared, Cristopher Cross, The Captain and Tennille, Kombo, Takashi Utsunomiya, ELO with Jeff Lynne, and many others.

“I love Markbass amps because they cover the whole spectrum of tones,” says Matt. “If I want a jazzy sound, or more of an older bass tone, it’s not brain surgery to switch back and forth. For bass players who like to keep things simple (like me), I really trust in these amps to represent my sound. Markbass amps, in my opinion, have really captured the best of all the amplifiers out there, but still hold their own originality.”
