Michał Barański is a Polish bassist and double bass player.
His adventure as a session man began as a teenager, touring with Brad Terry all across the US.
He has worked as a sideman for Nigel Kennedy, Dan Tepfer, Atma Anur, Tomasz Stańko, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Marcin Wasilewski, Michał Urbaniak, Aga Zaryan, Kayah, Janusz Muniak, Vladislav Sendecki, Piotr Wojtasik, Jarosław Śmietana, Piotr Wyleżoł, Michał Tokaj, Urszula Dudziak, Kuba Badach, Ewa Bem, Mieczysław Szcześniak, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Anna Serafińska, Jose Torres, David Doruzka, Carmen Moreno, Grzech Piotrowski, Piotr Baron and many others.
Michał Barański is the bassist for The Bennie Maupin Quartet.
He is also an assistant at The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice at the Jazz Department in the class of double bass and bass guitar.
