Simon Daigle ( ManBass ) has been bassist for over twenty-five years. His discipline and passion led him to extensive studies in music. He holds a Bachelor's degree in jazz performance, obtained in 2004 at the Université de Sherbrooke.
His professionalism and his attitude give him coveted musical contracts. In 2009, his talent was recognized by Korg Canada, a loyal partner for almost 10 years. In a Canada-wide contest, Simon was crowned one of the top three bassists in the country. Also named grand prize winner of an international competition hosted by the legendary Bootsy Collins and Indaba Music NYC, Simon presents a second album in 2016, ManBass.
The 40-year-old musician continues his musical career in class, as a music teacher, in the studio and especially on stage. Simon is bassist for Rick Hughes, Mademoiselle, Hugo Lapointe and joins several other musical groups. He has accompanied Normand Brathwaite, Élizabeth Blouin-Brathwaite and Lulu Hughes, as well as several artists who have appeared on the popular show La Voix. These employements allowed him to play on large stages, both locally and abroad. The bassist also participate in television, web series and radio programs.
Sometimes a director in the studio, sometimes a music director, the musician strives for excellence through simple respect for his art … in all musicality !
