Degreed in molecular biology from Howard University, Stan’s science background blended seamlessly with his musical career.

He was extensively involved with writers, performers and recording studios in the Washington D.C. area, before moving to Los Angeles in 1991.
Though well known as a bassist in the Los Angeles area, Stan’s reputation spans both U.S. and international markets. His resume of tours, performances and recordings feature an enviable cast of world class artists: Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Jody Watley, Bobby Caldwell, Keiko Matsui, Patti Austin, Dolly Parton, Dianne Caroll, Peggy Lee, Vanessa Williams, Suzanne Somers, The Jazz Crusaders, Oleta Adams, Kirk Whalum, Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Leonard Cohen, Peter White, Richard Elliot, Ricky Lawson, Acoustic Alchemy, Mindi Abair, Bobby Lyle, Lou Bega, Montel Jordan, Jonathan Butler, David Benoit, Michael Franks, Earl Klugh, Barry Manilow, Al Jarreau, as well as many others.
In 1998, Stan worked as the in X house bassist on the Howie Mandel Show. It was there that he met Kevin Eubanks of the Tonight Show.
Stan was asked to join the Tonight Show Band in 2002, and continued to work there until the end of 2006. Stan rejoined Barry Manilow, and continued to work with him until 2014, when he then joined famed Blues artist, Keb Mo.
Stan released his first recording project, “Connection” in 2014, which features many of his colleagues. “Connection” can be found on iTunes and Amazon.
